OK, so some of you are probably wondering what a typical day in the life of a pate artist is like. First off, we should let you know there are no typical days. But, in general, we have been known to:
Predict the Longhorns 2013-2014 season
8 and 6
Talk shop with friends
Hunt for ideas
And power nap.
When it’s time to get down to work, you’ll have plenty of inspiration.
It also helps if your mom plays with her food, too. Mine likes to make flowers.
But if you’re like me, you’ll probably lean more toward stuff like this:
Meteor Hurtling Toward Earth’s Atmosphere at an Alarming Rate
But however you choose to spend your day, be sure to give thanks for all that you have when it comes to its inevitable close. Another power nap wouldn’t hurt either.
This is our studio where all the pate magic happens.
It’s OK. You can come on in. 🙂
In fact, we’re going to show you how to make your own pate art today. It’s pretty simple. And super fun.
First, raid the cabinets.
Note: You should conserve your energy and let your assistant prepare your palette for you. It’s best if they give you a heaping tablespoon or two, so that you have enough media to work with.
While your human is hard at work, you can either meow continuously, if you already know what you want to make. Or you can wait patiently, as you ponder the myriad possibilities…
When your palette is within reach, you can get started…
And make something like this.
Baby Triceratops Beneath Stars
Chick fil-A Cow
But when you’re finished, it’s best to not form attachments to your work.
Your human will clean up after you.
And if you’re lucky…
…share your masterpieces with the world. 🙂
This is the first piece J.D. made that caught my attention. Even though it’s been a year and change since he adopted me, I just started noticing his work a few weeks ago. Since we live in Austin, I thought we’d start with something local…
You know your cat’s a Texan when he turns pate into Longhorns.
