I hope you are having a good Thor’s day. It rained some this afternoon, but no thunder, so I’m still out and about.
After work today mom donated her ponytail to Locks of Love. Her sister-in-law is surviving breast cancer, and mom wanted to do something cool for her. The salon where mom goes gives you free haircuts whenever you donate your hair. Mom says if you’re interested, you can visit this website to learn more about the charity.
Mom tried to take a picture for ya’ll while stopped at a light, but she says she sucks at selfies, and this was the best she could do.
Mom says she generally doesn’t text while driving. Although there was that one time she wrote a haiku in bumper-to-bumper traffic on 183. But usually she tries to wait until she’s at least stopped at a light or not driving to text or take pix or write haiku. She was on the phone with her boss and was trying to figure out why her bluetooth was acting up, so that probably didn’t help matters. But between you and me, her selfies aren’t that great, and bluetooth is kinda wack.
Here’s the ponytail mom donated. Her stylist is holding it for her, so she didn’t have to subject you to another bad selfie. In case you’re wondering, this is about 2 years worth of growth. Mom had been harvesting hair since the last time she donated to Locks of Love, which was right after her brother passed from prostrate cancer. She says she hopes no one else in her family gets cancer, because a) that would be super sad and b) she’d really like to hold onto her hair for awhile.
Her stylist says now their bag of ponytails is full, so they’re going to send the donations to Locks of Love this weekend, which we think is super cool.
And I made this to let mom know how awesome I think she is, bad selfies notwithstanding.
Well, it’s time to sign off for the evening. We think it might rain a little more tonight. Enjoy the rain, should it fall your way, too.
