they’d better bring tuna.

oh, hi. it’s me again, little c™. j.d. said i could guest blog tonight, since he’s wanting to nap.

we’ve had a really good day. earlier we went out on the catio.

Kitty grass is the bomb.

kitty grass is the bomb.

and later, my big bro lent a sympathetic ear when i shared a few concerns with him.

i think we're out of catnip.

i think we’re out of catnip and tuna.

i asked mom about today’s writing prompt. it says, “You were caught in an avalanche. To be rescued, you need to make it through the night. What thought(s) would give you the strength to go through such a scary, dangerous situation?”

i hope i’m never caught in an avalanche. but if that happened to me, i’d think about j.d. and all of our binky fest 2014 practice sessions. i think that would keep me warm until the rescue team came.

but they’d better bring tuna…

and binkies

…and binkies.

The Perfect Day Off

Oh, hai. Have you been having a good Thor’s day?

Little c™ and I have been snuggling up tight most of the day.

Sure it got up to 71 today, but we're in training for Binky Fest 2014.

We also enjoyed enjoyed some tuna this afternoon.

Kids, if you're playing at home. The best way to get Tuna to come for lunch is to pretend you don't know what crunchies are for.

After lunch we got down to business.

Doesn't get much better than this.

Sun puddles or bust.

When we asked mom about our writing prompt for today, she said, “What’s your idea of a perfect day off: one during which you can quietly relax, doing nothing, or one with one fun activity lined up after the other? Tell us how you’d spend your time.”

I’m not sure, but I think we just answered the question. Everyone knows Formula 1 races are best when held at night. But can we answer that question, if every day’s a day off? I guess that counts. Because even if we worked, we’d still be doing these things whenever the boss wasn’t looking, which is probably why we don’t work.

In the interest of journalistic integrity, we sought a more reputable source. Our cousin Molly has a real job. (She helps her mom quilt. In fact, she’ll be guest blogging about that soon.) When we asked her what she liked to do on her days off, she had only one thing to say…

So there you have it. The perfect day off includes Binky Fest practice, Tuna for lunch, sun puddling in the afternoon, and boxes.

Lots of them.

Lots of them.

Full Circle

Oh, hai. Has it been cold where you are?

Little c™ and I braved the patio for almost a minute this morning.

But we decided it was better inside.

We're pampered, and that's OK.

Where it’s warm.

After we got inside we asked mom about today’s writing prompt. She says it reads, “What’s the best present you’ve ever received that was handmade by the giver, not store-bought? Tell us what made it so special.”

Little c™ says he likes it when mom gets up to make tea, so he can take her binky and her spot on the couch. He says you can’t put a price on a warm seat. Or a binky.

In addition to stealing binkies and warm seats, little c™ made this today to let mom know he’d had enough of cold weather and was ready for spring.

And I made this to let mom know I was glad we didn’t have to tell any more knock knock jokes tonight.

Mom says she agrees on both counts.

And then she took this shot of us, so you’d know it was time for bed.

Actually, it was my idea. c™ pretty much follows my lead.

We thought the least we could do was warm it up for her before she climbed in.

Full circle, ya’ll.
